AUTOBACS SEVEN Co., Ltd. (Representative Director & Chief Executive Officer: Yugo Horii) donated eight vehicles on Saturday, July 25, to the Japan Car Sharing Association (Representative Director: Takehiko Yoshizawa; hereinafter “the Japan Car Sharing Association”), a general incorporated association that provides free vehicle loans to people who have lost their cars in disaster-stricken areas.
Key Points!
■ Donated 8 kei cars to the Japan Car Sharing Association
■ Plans to continue making donations on an ongoing basis through fiscal year 2030 as part of “Disaster Relief Utilizing Cars
We believe that access to a vehicle can play a vital role in helping disaster-affected communities take the first steps toward rebuilding their lives. Based on this belief, we have continuously carried out vehicle-based disaster relief initiatives that contribute to maintaining essential lifelines during emergencies. These efforts include providing vehicles and offering free inspections, maintenance, and servicing for loaned vehicles at AUTOBACS Group stores.
Furthermore, in July 2021, we entered into a Vehicle Support Agreement for Disaster Response with the Japan Car Sharing Association and joined the Mobility Resilience Alliance*. Through these partnerships, we are developing a framework that enables the rapid deployment of vehicle support in the event of a disaster. As part of this initiative, we also donate vehicles during normal times, and since fiscal year 2023, we have been making these donations on a regular basis.
*The Mobility Resilience Alliance is a disaster support network coordinated by the Japan Car Sharing Association in collaboration with companies and local governments. Its purpose is to support the recovery of disaster-affected communities by enabling participating companies and organizations to work together and rapidly deliver vehicles to affected areas when a disaster occurs. The term “Mobility Resilience” refers to the ability to restore mobility and help people recover from difficulties caused by the loss or unavailability of vehicles.
